Nowadays, imaging technologies have revolutionized radiology since the X-rays and scanners have been combined with ultrasound (echography) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The Imaging Department at the Fondation Ophtalmologique Adolphe de Rothschild Hospital has comprehensive technical facilities.

imagerieStandard radiology is used for bone assessments (standard, arthrography and interventional procedures for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes) and specialised explorations of the salivary glands (sialographies).
Gastrointestinal investigations, other than standard X-rays and gynaecological investigations, are not performed at the foundation.

The CT scanner is used to investigate all conditions, specialising in the ENT (petrous temporal bones, sinus, pharynx, larynx), ophthalmology (orbital tumours, trauma, exploration of tear ducts) and neurovascular fields (performance of angiography scans of the supra-aortic vessels and the circle of Willis).

In MRI, only neuroradiological (brain and spinal cord), ophthalmological and ENT (face structures and neck) explorations are performed.

The department's expertise in inflammatory (neurological and ophthalmological), vascular and tumour diseases, and in orbital lesions in adults and children, neuro-ophthalmology and paediatric neurology (recalcitrant epilepsies) constitutes one of its main strengths.

In the field of ultrasonography (or echography), in addition to orbital investigations (biometrics, orbital Doppler ultrasound), the department offers explorations of the neck and intracranial vessels and cervical masses (for diagnostic purposes, with needle biopsies).
