Rothschild is excited to launch the $5M Digital Brain Project aimed at propelling the scientific community around the collection, structuring and sharing of high-quality human neuroimaging data. This initiative will fund research grants to lay the foundations for a foundational model of the human brain through artificial intelligence. Established with the principles of open science and research ethics, our program promotes access, interoperability and reuse of data for the public to continue to advance neuroscience, AI, and clinical advancements.

More than just individual awards, the Digital Brain Project is a structured international effort, designed as an open interdisciplinary collaborative infrastructure across neuroscience, artificial intelligence and data science. It is aimed at researchers, innovators, and institutions wishing to contribute to the development of advanced analytical and computational frameworks that can advance the understanding of the brain, and support the emergence of next-generation artificial intelligence systems.

  • Focus on dense, within-subject data collection
  • Focus on reasoning, action, and planning
  • Priority of open sourcing

The scientific direction of the program is steered by an independent Scientific Committee who is responsible for making final awardee selections.

Based on rigorously validated empirical data and an open and interoperable ecosystem, the program aims to strengthen the predictive capacity of neuroscience approaches and accelerate their translation into clinical and technological applications, thus contributing to a lasting transformation of the understanding of the human brain.

Through this initiative, the A. de Rothschild Hospital Foundation and its partners reaffirm their commitment to open, interdisciplinary and collaborative research for scientific and medical progress.
