Quality engagement

The quality - risk management strategy at the Fondation Ophtalmologique Adolphe de Rothschild Hospital excelled during the certification process conducted by the Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS - French National Authority for Health). Our institution was certified without reservations or recommendation (French) by the HAS on 14 October 2013, for a duration of 4 years. On a national level, only 16% of healthcare institutions are the subject of certification without reservations or recommendations.

The Foundation Hospital's quality and risk management policy is centred around the service provided to patients.

Our quality commitments are as follows:

Patients must be informed players in their own care. They must be actively involved in the management of their health and informed about the quality level achieved by the healthcare establishment treating them.

       

  • To manage their health, they need to receive useful and comprehensible information, be listened to by professionals and benefit from global, individual care.
  • The quality level obtained by the healthcare institution is dependent on the safety of its professional practices and its capacity to remain at the cutting-edge of progress, technologies and medical science.

The fundamental rights of patients must be respected, particularly in terms of respecting their dignity and guaranteeing confidentiality and also by ensuring all possible measures are taken to make their hospital stay  comfortable: pain relief, comfort of hospital accommodation, and kindness of health professionals.

As part of its Patient Welfare project, the hospital is particularly attentive to the specific needs of vulnerable patients (children, the elderly) and aims to manage their care as effectively as possible.

For these reasons, the hospital's quality and risk management policy is hinged around these priorities:

-          Quality of care continuity and coordination,

-          Risk management process hinged around the safety culture based on the encouragement of professionals to adopt a "positive reporting" approach and feedback practices,

-          Greater involvement of healthcare user representatives in the selection of avenues for improvement and in hospital life.
